Volkov Alexey Anatolyevich graduated with honors from Saratov State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology in 1997, specializing in Veterinary Medicine. He began his career as a radiologist in the clinical hospital of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (1998-2003). In 2000, he passed his thesis "Substantiation of the tactics of complex clinical and instrumental diagnostics of gastritis of carnivores". From 2003 to 2004 he worked as a press secretary for Educational Scientific Medical Center. In 2004, he organized a research and development laboratory for radiation diagnostics and radiation therapy, the only one in Volga region that has a license to work with X-ray radiation for animal studies. In the same year he became the winner of the All-Russian competition "Golden Scalpel" in the nomination "For the popularization of the profession of a veterinarian". In 2005, he started his doctorate studies and on December 22, 2009, passed his doctoral dissertation "Morphological criteria, clinical and diagnostic tactics of examination and treatment of dogs with esophageal and gastroduodenal pathology" at Donskoy State Teacher Trainig University.
He was elected president of Saratov Regional Association of practising veterinarians. He is the originator of regional competitions "The best veterinarian of Saratov region" and "The unique case". He is the organizer of 2 international, 5 all-Russian and 3 regional scientific-practical conferences devoted to modern problems and prospects of development of domestic veterinary medicine.
